1.en.2 D&E Mr Bean visits the blog to give us a crash course on packing techniques.

After stopping  in London for a while  to meet the British Olympic athletes ,  we cannot delay departure any longer.  An exciting journey is ahead of us and we better pack.  Your Spanish and Catalan teachers are on the move, and we do not want to miss the train, so…

Let’s start with a bit of humour. Mr Bean, after the opening of the Olympics, (did you see him?) came to our blog to give us a crash course on fitting everything you need in a suitcase.

  1. Can you describe Mr Bean’s suitcase?
  2. What about its content?
  3. If his suitcase got lost, would you be able to help him  fill in a luggage claim form?
  4. Have you or your family ever lost any luggage?
  5. Do you like Mr Bean’s humour?
  6. What is your suitcase like? is it similar or different than Mr Bean’s?
  7. When was the last time you had to pack your stuff?
  8. Where were you going?
  9. how long did you pack for?
  10. Did you do as Mr Bean? display your things on the bed before actually putting them in? or did you grab things from the closet?

Homework: write the answers in your notebook and post one answer to the blog. You must only post one answer. The one that follows the previous contributor. Remember to mention your group. You only need to write D or E next to your name. You’ll make things easier for your teachers. Deadline for D and E Tuesday 25th September.

After some humour, a few travel quotations  to make you think a bit.

Which do you find  most inspiring?

Do you understand them?

Have you heard of the writers responsible for the quotations?

We shall work with some poems of one of them. Apart from poet, he wrote a great travel book about an island, and he was a traveller too. Can you guess who am I talking about?

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” – Marcel Proust

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

“If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness and fears.” – Cesare Pavese

“I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” – Mark Twain

“The first condition of understanding a foreign country is to smell it.” – Rudyard Kipling

Post your choice of quotation to the blog. You only need to write: my vote goes to ….folloes my the author’s name

Do it at the end of Mr Bean’s post. Deadline for 2 D and 2E Tuesday 25th September,
